Unfortunately, I'm only running LFS on a real sandybridge (i3), so I can't verify the truth of that assertion (plus, I think I read it in a comment on phoronix, so it comes with a presumption of "not necessarily true" :)
I've got a netbook with an i915, currently running "I can't configure debian" - if I do nothing else for the next six months I can perhaps build a working and useful BLFS on it, but I've got better things to do.
