I'm running out of disk space on anduin. The space is being used by the
historical copies of large packages. For instance:

4.6G BLFS/conglomeration/firefox
6.1G BLFS/conglomeration/libreoffice
1.2G BLFS/conglomeration/OOo
2.7G BLFS/conglomeration/openjdk
7.1G BLFS/conglomeration/oxygen-icons
1.8G BLFS/conglomeration/qt4
1.5G BLFS/conglomeration/qt5
3.4G BLFS/conglomeration/seamonkey
3.9G BLFS/conglomeration/thunderbird

anduin is not the master server but updates from the master server are
copied here.

To demonstrate the problem, we have 20 copies of libre office from
versions 4.0.0.3 to 4.3.4.1. Each version consists of 4 files totaling
about 225M each. We have 29 versions of oxygen-icons that are over 250M
each.

Does anyone have any objection to me removing older packages from the
master server so we can free up some space on all file mirrors?

Since we decided to support only latest stable and previous stable BLFS
release, I'd say go for it. You could also free some space for LFS
packages, given that for each release we have a tarball containing all
the other tarballs.

Good point about LFS Armin. I removed the LFS -rc1 source tarballs and related files and freed up almost 4G. I still need to clean up BLFS, but that can be done more slowly.
