OK, LO-4.4 builds fine (and seems to work) without the patch on 64 bit. I have a little problem with the instructions, though. At the end, there is the command: -------- update-desktop-database -------- which is not present on my system, so that the automatically generated script fails at this point. This utility is from the desktop-file-utils package, which is not even among the optional deps of LO. So, what should we do? Remove this instruction? tag desktop-file-utils as recommended? tag it as optional, and add an entry in command explanations?
