I've now completed my "normal" desktop using gcc-5.1.0-RC-20150412. BLFS versions as at 2015-04-14.
This is not using a desktop environment and it only scratches the surface of BLFS. Also, I have not attempted to test most of the things I built (and some cannot be tested on this machine - no sound, and I didn't build the printer stack). So, much remains uncertain. But I've committed patches for the following: xorg-server (fails to build) libvpx (ditto) qt4 For qt4, I did run everything that is in the book (I'll do that if I test kde on a second build), but I wish to draw this one to people's attention because it appears to build fine without the patch, and in double-quick time. The problem is that the summary of the build (about 110 lines down my log) shows that WebKit will not be built. That bit me when I tried to build qupzilla (which is not in BLFS), and I assume it will also bite anybody building kde4. Now, back to looking at glibc git for LFS to see if that will let me keep the -Wall flag in Makefconfig (no idea if it is a gcc or glibc problem). ĸen -- Nanny Ogg usually went to bed early.
