This is very strange. Either using the menu or Ctrl+Q, nothing happens.
Run from terminal the same behaviour, no message, when trying to quit.
They seem to have "fixed" exactly this "quit" command, according to this
message (and other messages in the same page - just search "quit" in the
page) [1]:

I checked the Mozilla Releases and it should be out this week, they say
the week of may 12th. Oddly enough, I haven't had any issues with v37
except when watching youtube videos. That's the only time the keyboard
shortcuts have quit working for me.

Will try to find the commit, and if it can be undone. But it would be
interesting to know if it fails for everybody or only for me.
If it takes too long trying to find the commit, I will try to fix some
tickets, and postpone trying to fix this annoying but not high priority
issue.
