I am agree with you, and I add the descriptions that I can find...
Despite that reservation, getting more descriptions is good.
Actually, it is not possible for me to help with package update... so I
add all the descriptions that it is possible to add ;o)
I'm tempted to suggest you turn your attention to documenting the
texlive programs - no, that was a joke,

there are far too many of
them to accomodate in the book. I do think that we should perhaps
document a *small* subset of the texlive programs and scripts, but
that would involve a lot of heated argument about which are important
enough to document ;)
