The download link for scons-2.3.5.tar.gz now delivers a file with md5 checksum 8b0d1041266f89b18e47f26d943f8aa5 instead of a8988c7ef11133bb3b6ccf0af67ce010 as stated in the book. But the version of this file in the mirror at ftp://ftp.lfs-matrix.net/pub/blfs/ has the original checksum as per the book. Comparing the two I find: BLFS: date: 2015/06/18 06:53:27 revision: pchdll:3325:cd517fae59a4 man pages: present but empty current download: date: 2015/06/20 11:18:26| revision: rel_2.3:3329:275e75118ad4 man pages: present and complete Googling the checksums shows that distros everywhere have picked up the same version as BLFS. So now we have this odd situation where people are using the same version as us but the canonical download link returns something different. What should we do? Incidentally, the scons man page is very large (~ 1/2 MB) which means that the current download is rather larger than the BLFS version. It is also slightly larger than the previous point version in BLFS, which is what I would expect from a point version upgrade.
Please open a ticket. The fix is to treat it as a new version (as upstream should have done).
