In fact, I accidentally built it wrongly (specified the prefix
twice, the second time as $QT5PREFIX or whatever it was called last
night).  That did not need the CMAKE_PREFIX_PATH, but of course it
dumped it into /opt/qt5 (and the corresponding lib64).  Rebuilding
for /usr, _I_ still need it, and similarly phonon needs it.

At that point I gave up and added
export CMAKE_PREFIX_PATH=$QT5DIR:$KF5_PREFIX

I surmise that building in /usr will not need these shenanigans.
For those of you who are using /opt and do not need it - keep your
grimoires chained lest the magic escapes (yes, I'm reading discworld
again).
