I'd be willing to provide the descriptions in BLFS style, if there is a

The problem with adding new packages is that they have to be maintained
and updated as they change. We tend to add more packages than we remove.

One other point. By the time a user needs these packages, the
experience in building LFS and BLFS should allow most users to build
arbitrary packages not in either book.

Has the BLFS team thought of letting users add packages to a wiki?
There would be LFS/BLFS and then a wiki with user submitted packages
with commands and configurations. A wiki can also get out of hand if
not properly managed, but could be a good guide beyond BLFS. Of
course, there is the hints project, but a wiki could be helpful if
well maintained. It'd be a beyond blfs wiki for users to utilize.
Just an idea, and not really a request.

I'm not opposed to that, but I do not have the time to maintain it. I think it would end up like the clfs site and the hints -- useful but not quite up to date.

I did try to start an lfs blog once, but it immediately attracted tons of spam and I couldn't spend the time to do the proper control.
