Since nobody has responded to this, I've come back to my machine which has a recent kde4. The md5 for the 15.04.3 version in the kde4 chapter is 8224111b0188518460187f2245a17528 but when I downloaded it I got 228045200142ad716a147a0a3191afa4 which is the same as the version in the kf5 chapter. It certainly builds (with a DESTDIR install) on both kde4 and kde5.
