I just started trying to use xorg-server 1.18.0, but everytime I
start it, the keyboard and mouse are unresponsive, and Xorg.0.log
says it could not find any input drivers. I have xf86-input-evdev,
version 2.10.0, built against xorg-server 1.18.0, and located at
    /usr/lib/xorg/modules/input/evdev_drv.so. I have X with xorg-server
1.17.4 running fine at the moment - I used the same build commands
for the server and drivers, and the same driver versions, the only
thing I changed was the version of xorg-server. I did also try
installing libinput and xcb-util-cursor, in case those might be
somehow needed by the new xorg-server, but that didn't help.

I am running a current CLFS dev systemd system, though without PAM
so X should not be trying to use systemd-logind, and the log files
for both xorg-server versions do say it's not being used.

I'm a little limited right now, but my input drivers are in
/opt/xorg/lib/xorg/modules/input so I suspect
evdev_drv.so should be in /usr/lib/xorg/modules/input/.

Yes, I do have that.

ls /usr/lib/xorg/modules/input/
evdev_drv.la evdev_drv.so
