I originally noted that firefox failed to build (binutils-2.26)
earlier this month, when I was testing the gold linker. I put a
conditional fix in my script to add --disable-elf-hack if ld was the
gold version.

Last week when I tested -rc1 I was still using gold, so firefox
built fine.

For my current -rc2 build I am still _building_ gold, but not
using it. Last night, I got the same failure. I am also using gtk3
on this machine. All of this is x86_64.

I was going to add this to the book, with a comment that it is for
binutils-2.26, but I notice that fedora do not seem to need this
switch. Possibly one of their binutils patches fixes it. But in
the absence of verification, I'm going to hold off for the moment.

The "good" thing, if you do hit the problem, is that it happens
early and tells you to use --disable-elf-hack.

Any comments that firefox-44.0.2 does NOT need this in your build
will also be welcome, to help identify where the change is needed.

I suppose there is a (slim) possibility that firefox is detecting
the existence of ld-gold and trying to use it.
