We are now at dbus-1.12.2. I was planning on updating the book this
weekend. I'll look at it then. Thanks for the heads up.
I just took a look at this and it seems to detect systemd (or not)
automatically. In the configure log is:
Building systemd support: no
so it appears that --disable-systemd and --without-systemdsystemunitdir
are no longer needed. I do note that there is one empty directory
created, /usr/share/dbus-1/system.d, but that seems pretty harmless.
I think this directory is not related to systemd anyways, this is the share
directory for the system dbus part, as opposed to the user dbus part.
