Playing with transcode (I've now got it to build with ffmpeg-4.0,
dunno if it *works* - will be trying to offer a patch to gentoo
before I get on with that, because their's seems to be incomplete
for my build) reminded my that I build various things which are not
in BLFS. At this moment I am reminded of two: is there any
interest in adding these to BLFS ?

1. lsdvd : if you are using transcode (or just tccat) to rip a DVD,

2. chrony : we have a hint for an old verison, but that hint is
severely out of date. Actually, I can remember using an older
version when I was on dialup. I noticed a pointer to an article at
lwn.net late last year:

 https://www.coreinfrastructure.org/blogs/securing-network-time/

At that time I was having problems with ntpd losing sync after a
series of s2ram suspends on my haswell. Chronyd seems to be
recommended for machines which suspend or hibernate, and also for
virtual machines. It did work with suspend on my haswell, but since
then I seem to have broken the PS/2 connection and I'm now using a
usb keyboard so s2ram doesn't work (hibernate does, similarly on my
other two main machines which are all using chrony).

Please note that I have no experience with using it on a machine
which is not always connected to the network (e.g. a laptop) - it
does have options for that, but I've no experience with using them.

And I assume that people using systemd will probably use
systemd-timesyncd.
