This is an odd one.  While DB-5 was running its tests and only using
some of my cores, I used parole to look at a video I'd ripped and
transcoded.  Although mediainfo showed it was 728x576 the video
played as if square (1:1).  Plays ok in vlc.

Looking around, formats which *don't* start with 'm' (wmv, ogv)
play sensibly but all of mp4, mkv, mov appear as if 1:1 (i.e.
squashed).  They play correctly in vlc.

I didn't notice this a month or two ago when I was ripping on
another machine, although it took me quite a long time today to
fast-forward through a couple of rips with different settings before
I gradually thought "this looks odd", so maybe I was asleep at the
monitor.  But assuming things were ok (mid-June versions) I'm
starting to wonder what has changed.

Therefore the first question is: anybody else seeing this with
current parole (1.0.1) and recent-ish builds ?
