Hello,

[..
easily set the compilation debug flag (?)), and cargo
is embedded with rustc...

Wohhh... I have seen Email with a subject as "I hate rustc".....

I don't remember if that came from me, but I at lest share the
sentiment. Unfortunately rust is required for the current firefox,
thunderbird, and librsvg packages.

Firefox is not reliable and I feel it try to outsmart you
(doing things in your back).
at firt glance, falkon seems doing the browser job

Thunderbird is more problem, but there are other mail reader.

[..]

Nothing actually requires xfce4-xkb-plugin. If you are using a standard
US keyboard, you do not need it. I admit that we imply that it is needed.

No, you/we must give consider people using other keyboard
application "locale" setup is important.

Another solution is to build an earlier version of librsvg (2.40.30)
that did not use rust
Yes I was thinking about this, Pretty sure 2.40.30 to handle
countries flag size....
But it a de-facto fork...
and I would prefer to keep close from upstream....

So fare, in term of implementation complexity, LXQT
is the winner over XFCE. Once I'll see the result (panel and
ergonomics,...) of XFCE may be I'll say otherwise.
