Hi
Just built Gnome from svn, and gnome-control-center crashes. I got it
to open 2 or 3 times then when I tried user details in crashed and
now wont even come back? I used glib-2,60. I have been building Gnome
for awhile now getting the latest versions when released, I have
found/had trouble using newer glib-2.59 as well but 2.58.3 worked no
problem.
So I dont know if any one else has these problems.
When lauching from a terminal there is no output just nothing happens?
I have reinstalled Control center still nothing. I have put the issue
down to glib- versions as rebuilding with glib 2.58 in the past
corrected problems with control center, Arch is still using glib-2.58
as far as i can see.
Until GNOME 3.32 lands in the book, there will be a versioning problem
with gnome-control-center. You're right, this is due to glib-2.60.0.
Normally, we don't push one without the other being present, but glib2
came early this time. I'm still missing 12 GNOME modules for 3.32, so I
cannot proceed with those updates until at least tomorrow or Thursday. I
need to do systemd and finish up GCC (which is on it's final tests now)
in order to do these anyway.
The most crucial of the missing modules is GDM. I'm also missing a new
gnome-online-accounts, at minimum. I will probably update to GDM-3.30.3
anyway just so I have it tested and can put it in the errata, if the new
GDM doesn't come out tonight. GNOME 3.32.0's official release date is
Tomorrow, so I excuse late tarballs to a certain extent.
Also, if you're using gnome-3.32 early, make sure you're using the new
gnome-control-center that came out, 3.32.0.1 or something of that
nature. You might be able to sneak that and the new
gnome-settings-daemon (they're dependent on each other) into 3.30 as
well - if you haven't tried that, go ahead and report back please.
Thanks for the report!
