The xinit part of that commit looks and sounds reasonable (I haven't
booted my new build yet, so I'm at best some hours from trying to
startx), but the xorg-server changes (only to explanations) look odd.

./configure $XORG_CONFIG \
            --enable-glamor \
            --enable-install-setuid \
            --enable-suid-wrapper \
            --with-xkb-output=/var/lib/xkb

i.e. the suid install and the wrapper are still built.

I read this as implying that for xinit the sed should not be used
when compiling, but if desired the Xorg program can be chmodded to
suid and the installed startx script altered so it will use vt7.

But: the server is compiled as suid, so the optional chmod should
have no effect.
