I use konsole a lot. There is one problem though. The scrollbar by

I've developed a patch for making the scrollbar and its handle visible
for my personal use. I'm wondering if I should include the patch in
the book as an optional patch. There is one caveat. If a user wants
colors different from what I've chosen (light gray with 2px white
border, dark gray handle), it requires editing the patch and
rebuilding the app.
The question is whether I should include this in the book, add it to
the user notes, write a hint, or do nothing. The patch is below.
Comments?
I think it should be dropped into the book as is. IMO, Light Gray with a
White Border and a Dark Gray Handle is standard UX design (at least in
the Microsoft camp), and would be great for this usage. It's also high
contrast which helps people with vision issues out. I use Konsole daily
with the exact patcht that you send me :-)
I think the concern regarding having to rebuild the app after editing
the patch should be documented in the User Notes for Konsole.
