I'm not sure what our policy is on the subject, but the symlink /usr/bin/vi
pointing to vim is not in the instructions in BLFS. Of course, if a user
installs BLFS-vim on top of LFS-vim, the link is still there, but if she/he
uses a package manager to remove LFS-vi before installing BLFS-vi, it is very
likely that the link is removed and not created again.

On the BLFS-gcc page, we create again the symlinks that are in LFS, telling:
"
The following symbolic links are not needed if you have followed the LFS
instructions, since they have been already created. If you do not have them on
your system, issue as the root user:
"

Should we do the same for vim?
