For intel GPUs, except GEN8 (Broadwell), this week's vulnerability
is being covered at Phoronix. Ostensibly, information disclosure to
a local unprivileged user and possible DoS. At this point it is
unclear if this vulnerability can be accessed by malicious code
running in a web browser, so perhaps only relevant to people hosting
virtual systems.

For desktops, it seems to be limited to fingerprinting the machine.

For Gen7 there was apparently a second set of patches, but currently
concerned with correctness and not yet ready for submission - with
the hope that performance problems can be fixed before it is ready
for submission.

Phoronix has now pointed to a second public set of patches at
freedesktop, comments in the thread imply it might need more
(hopefully, minor) revision for kernel style.

From the above, it was unclear if the patches are for mesa or the kernel. After a little investigation, it is the kernel.

The kernel releases kernels *very* frequently. I do not think we need to do anything except wait for new versions to incorporate the fixes.
