Testing re autoconf beta, I ran through the openldap client
instructions (in a chroot throwaway build), all completed including
the last one:
ln -sf ../lib/slapd /usr/sbin/slapd
But in the client configure we have:
--disable-slapd
And looking at what resulted shows me:
oot@deluxe /tmp/openldap-2.4.50 #file /usr/sbin/slapd
/usr/sbin/slapd: broken symbolic link to ../lib/slapd
I think this is broken, but since I've had so much grief with
openldap in the past that at one time I resolved never to install
it, I thought I might as well ask before just removing the
instruction *from the client only*. Better to ask than to be slapd
down for missing something ;-)
I subscribe to the autoconf mailing list. The stable release is a
couple of months away. We will use the current version of autoconf for
10.0 and that works with OpenLDAP so lets leave it alone for now.
