It does not use a file manager or gnome shell. gnome-terminal attempts to build a nautilus extension so we can use "Open in terminal" in nautilus. And, it's acting as a "gnome-shell search provider" so we can search for a terminal in gnome shell dashboard. (See the image appended.) If we want to satisify those guys who use gnome-terminal but not other GNOME components, we should add these two options for systemd book as well.
