Hi all
I just went through building xorg with elogind/dbus support until
xinit, as in the book.
I then still had to
chmod u+s $XORG_PREFIX/libexec/Xorg
in order to get X running. So just to make sure I did not fuck up
anywhere: is this still expected behaviour with elogind?
No,
I assume the rootless thing only works when starting X with some
dbus/polkit magic?
There are some circular dependencies and it's a bit tricky.
pam
polkit
dbus
elogind
xorg-libs
dbus
Ok, I have pam, dbus, elogind and xorg-lib, but I'm still missing polkit.
I guess that's where my problem lies. loginctl in any case seems to
work, so I assume dbus, pam and elogind per se are correct:
timtas@lfsda0:~$ loginctl
SESSION UID USER SEAT TTY
19 1000 timtas pts/2
25 1000 timtas seat0 tty1
29 1000 timtas pts/3
3 sessions listed.
Will now do the polkit stuff, and then see what's happening.
Bye
Tim
Of course there are other dependencies for these packages.
