trouble with X on many machines at home and other places, without
having to vary from the book.
I wouldn't take that bet :) Even though this is my first build, I have
discovered that the quality control on "the book" is excellent. That
bears repeating--excellent. However, from an engineering standpoint, in
troubleshooting all possiblities however improbable must be investigated
until ruled out by data. My guts tell me that it's something "special"
about BLFS or something "screwy"--as usual--in Mandrake. But the
reference in the HOWTO mystifies me.
BTW--nothing helpful at the Xorg wiki.
