To be able to use rpm successfully on an lfs based system you need to
install rpm into the temptools during chapt 5. Then when you start
building the final versions of the packages as rpm's you fix all the
dependancy problems. Search the archives for my contributions. IIRC I
posted scripts and spec files to build lfs with rpm. You can also mail
me off list for more details.
