In your ~/.bashrc, there should be something like :

if [ -f "/etc/bashrc" ] ; then
        source /etc/bashrc
fi

For the profile, I think it is loaded in all kind of shells, so there
shouldn't be any problem. Verify that your scripts in /etc/profile.d are
executable.

Just my guess...
