If you read lilo's documentation, you will find that it stores something
like a sector number, and references that. You should see one of 
L

LILO:

as it's just giving you the 'l' refer to lilo's docs. I would go for
grub there, as it references filenames

P.S. The usual thing if it works on your machine but not others is that
you are accessing the HD, and your own hd isn't in other machines. If
you don't crack it, post your /etc/lilo.conf
