Good suggestion. However, to the best of my knowledge, there's been
*one* report (the recent one, in this thread) in the last year or so
where the sed command in the X instructions using a backtick has
(maybe) caused someone a problem.

I'm not sure we need to go to a bunch of trouble because of *one*
report of a fouled up installation.
