> No. It's based on xpdf. No gs involved. FWIW, gpdf prints fonts correctly and xpdf displays/prints fonts correctly. gpdf just won't display the fonts correctly. Also tried gpdf 2.8.3 with no luck.

Had to install poppler from freedesktop.org; its a pdf rendering library. Install was simple, <1 SBU for both packages. Evince displays/prints all fonts correctly. Evince seems a little primitive, but shows promise. Doesn't support alpha-blending (which we use a lot of at the office), so I probably won't stick with it, although that's probably more the fault of poppler than evince.
