Just touching the *1.2.9.patch is sufficient to move on (until you have to replace the empty file later.. heh).

It's that need to replace keytrans that puzzles me most. Btw: I recall there was a section in the makefile that I claimed responsible for that and commented out. After deleting the whole subtree containing keytrans (so that it would be unpacked / rebuilt), I didn't have that problem. Sounds familiar in any way..?

Nope. I've made a note to look into it though.. we'll see how my current build goes, I'll clean up my patches (especially that libxmlsec one.. hehe), and then see if I can narrow down the problem.

<snip> That's what I really wanted to do, but then decided to go with b2 so that others can get it easier and my discoveries are more useful for more people (should there be any useful discoveries that is :-)

True enough, though at this stage if anyone is willing to go through the effort of building OOo2, grabbing a cvs version isn't really that much more complicated. The CVS instructions could even be included in the howto - it's only a couple lines. Anyhow, not really relevant I don't think; the cvs version I have still has the same versions of the problem packages..

Had to read that a couple times.. lol ..but I get what you're saying. I never even considered that, but yeah that'll be a hell of a lot better than what I've been doing temporarily. I have a patch that essentially replaces a tar.gz.. :)

Awesome :-)

Sometimes I'm just not so smart.. it's a known bug.

<snip> Do I recall correctly that at some point you renamed beanshell to BeanShell? Hmm, as I read it now you did some tricks with rhino, so

Sorta, kinda.. but no. The bsh*.jar I got unpacked to BeanShell-2.0b4; this had to be renamed to BeanShell and then repackaged as a tar.gz (because dmake looks for BeanShell.. renaming the target root in the makefile worked initially then failed later IIRC).

Did you find a tar.gz that already unpackaged to BeanShell? (That would be ideal..)

Gah.. my beanshell patch was pretty much the same (aside from your creating the *2.0b4.patch - not necessary since it'd be the same as *b1.patch) - but I forgot to change the proj/d.lst file when I made the patch. (I had done so in my earlier tinkerings but didn't write it down - that not so smart thing again..) Updated my patch to include this, and it looks like it's building past that point. Thanks.

Sadly, I'm going to be pretty busy too - going back to uni & moving to a new place. However, I'm determined to get over OOo before that - we'll see if it's nice enough to play this game... Thanks for all your input and hope to hear from you soon!

And thank you for all your input. No worries though, I'm not going anywhere; my responses just might be a little further apart. I want to get this to build too and I can't just leave something partially finished that I've put a lot of time into.

Regards,
Jeremy.
