That's the best way for the modules.  And as far as the sound restore,
in the ALSA chapters there's a script that will restore the volumes
that were set before reboot.  "alsactl store" will dump the volume
levels into /etc/asound.state which the levels can then be restored
with "alsactl restore" which is done with a udev script.
