I think I misunderstood your question....
- and from where do i create that link ?
ln -sf motif21/libmawt.so /opt/jdk/jdk-1.5.0-precompiled/jre/lib/i386/
Anywhere you want...so long as
/opt/jdk/jdk-1.5.0-precompiled/jre/lib/i386/motif21/libmawt.so exists.
jdk 1.5.0-5 is installed in /opt, so
/opt/jdk/jdk-1.5.0-precompiled/jre/lib/i386/ is right.
but no motif21 nor in /opt nor in OO.
The command:
ln -sf motif21/libmawt.so /opt/jdk/jdk-1.5.0-precompiled/jre/lib/i386/
creates a symlink:
/opt/jdk/jdk-1.5.0-precompiled/jre/lib/i386/libmawt.so
that points to:
/opt/jdk/jdk-1.5.0-precompiled/jre/lib/i386/motif21/libmawt.so
it's relative to the link, not where you execute the command. 'man ls'
for more info. If I've furthur misunderstood the question, then please
ignore this message.
