Greetings, I am experiencing problems running gimp-print-4.2.7 as non-root (on an LFS build). CUPS works OK as root and ordinary user and gimp-print works as root but not as ordinary user.
The printer is an epson stylus colour 660 ( centronics (8-bit parallel interface) I am using the recommended gimp-print+foomatic postscript -driver). I put all users in group lp and did chgrp lp /dev/lp0 chmod 660 /dev/lp0 (to give the ordinary user access to the parallel port. But it made no difference. A check of /var/spool/cups when a print command is issued from gimp shows no file deposited in this directory. ( A print command from CUPS shows a file deposited in the same directory however.) Helpful suggestions will be appreciated.
