I don't believe I ever tried to compile the JDK-1.5 using GCC-3.4.3. There were issues when I first installed, they were not worked out till much later, so I ended up using the binary version for this particular version of LFS/BLFS. So I don't really have anything to offer, except that in previous versions of the JDK, you could compile the Motif library at the beginning, before the real build (just took a few moments to find out if it would work or fail) and if it worked, then you went on with the real build. I specifically remember this information and text explaining that on some platforms the Motif library had trouble being compiled. I wish I could be of more help, hopefully DJ will jump in and give us some real information. -- Randy rmlscsi: [GNU ld version 2.15.94.0.2 20041220] [gcc (GCC) 3.4.3] [GNU C Library stable release version 2.3.4] [Linux 2.6.10 i686] 07:55:00 up 94 days, 17:19, 3 users, load average: 0.22, 0.23, 0.22 -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
