The LFS Book, Chapter 7.4 gives a good, basic, general explanation of
hotplug and how it interacts with udev. If you go to the gphoto2 site
and look at their configuration instructions for a usb digital camera,
you will see the basics of how libusb and udev interact. I don't think
that there's much more--unless you want to write some udev rules yourself.
