Well, I did this

I also downloaded this, and I compiled the file.
After all that, I got a significant changed behaviour: a lot of messages of 
the kind
"Jan 13 portable udevd-event[8701]: run_program: exec of program 
'/sbin/udev_run_devd'  failed.
What could this mean ?
On the other side, I dont get more messages of an ipw-2.4-boot.fw load failed.
I just got: "ipw2200: Detected Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection" 
followed by an "Adding 995988k swap etc".
So, I feel, I am on the way, but at the moment I see a lot of trees but not 
the forest. OK ? Could you give me a "kick" ?
