That means KDE doesn't like your X installation, or you didn't
put the X /bin directory in your PATH.

I'm not sure that has anything to do with it. xmkmf is a program
installed by X.

I'm not sure that is of any issue, because if it is complaining about
not being able to find a program it doesn't seem likely that the
linker's shared library configuration has much to do with.
