Actually, there is a *much* simpler method - set up a single queue in
cups, for regular paper using an acceptable resolution, then use gimp +
gutenprint to do the photos : in that dialog I've got more available
sliders, resolutions, and choices of media than I know what to do with,
and they get sent to cups as -o raw so the settings in cups' printer
config don't really matter.
OK, this probably breaks down if I queue a print, power cycle, decide
to print photos, and forget to check the pending jobs. I think I can
live with that. And I'm amazed at how my view of cups has changed now
that I've got it working. So, sorted.
