When I was installing the UnZip package (Chpt 11, BLFS 6.1) the command from the book:

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$PWD && make check

failed. Although LD_LIBRARY_PATH was set appropriately by the command, make check seemed to ignore it and the shared library could not be found.

Any ideas why? I haven't been able to find any mention in the mailist archives, so is it something I have done different/wrong?

(I carried on and installed the package anyway, and then as the shared library had been installed to the usual place the make check passed. But I wasn't comfortable doing this.)

Mike.
