Is there a Reader's Digest Condensed version that can explain it
for folks in Texas?
It's just a bit of Hoosier Hysteria which in the past related only to
basketball. Our fairly new governor decided he wanted our state to
change to Daylight Savings time which is rediculous; why not just go to
work an hour earlier and leave the clocks alone! Our state legislators
have argued over it during their legislative session for at least 20
years; ending each session with no resolution. It had actually become an
endearing piece of legislation to many Hoosiers. The federal government
stepped in and said they wanted all of our counties to be on the same
time, the governor originally wanted it also. Then he backpedaled, as
most politicians will from time to time, and allowed some 16 or so
counties to be in a different time zone. The feds didn't like this so it
was front page news here in our backwoods state. However, "Mitch the
Man" (our governor who is fast losing popularity) has managed to pull it
off and beginning April 2nd we will all be observing Daylight Savings
Time, but will still have two time zones in our state. I believe it is
"Spring forward; Fall back" I hope... otherwise I'll be late, or is that
early? (Randy, I can never condense anything, except perhaps a poem ;))
