Openoffice really is a beast in terms of disk usage while building. I
had to free an old partition to get it build in, because my normal
system hadn't enough space.
However only the building itself needs that lot of space, I think around
6GB in my case. after installation of openoffice it needs:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/opt$ du -sch openoffice-2.0/
254M    openoffice-2.0/
254M    total
