I don't do anything different than the book says that can affect
the outcome of the packages. I install a bunch of stuff in /opt
(GNOME, KDE, Thunderbird, Firefox, Qt, FOP, JUnit-4.0, JDK), but
that shouldn't have anything to do with it.

Here is what I recorded in /etc/lfs-release after building LFS:

# File: /etc/lfs-release

SVN-20060322

===================================================================

Here is a list of installed packages. This system is a production
system on a total POS box. 500mhz P3 with 256mb RAM and a big disk.
The machine is all SCSI, other than an IDE CD cutter. It runs great
though, for what I use it for. Very reliable, I boot it about
twice a year and it is up 24x7x365.
