Thanks for that.  I get 465.30 bogomips.  I'm working now on how I can easily 
clone my LFS-4.1 build and customizations (yeah, it's old, but so is this 
CPU!), but I guess when I can get back to LFS-6.1.1 I'll give BLFS' KDE-3.4 
suggestion a whirl after all.  I don't often use KDE, usually I run 
Firefox/Thunderbird in X, but once in a while (like c&p-ing the LFS build 
scripts) it's really handy!  I just have to be really careful about bogging 
down the bogomips with a modest CPU.
