Hi.

I'm installing my new LFS, based on the SVN-20060423 books. The base
system went OK, I used my kernel-2.6.13 configuration to compile the new
(2.6.16.5) kernel, but inspected the configuration manually. There seem
to be some changes in the iptables part.

Well, I then installed gpm and lynx, and then X, ppp, and my speedtouch
driver, all this going very smoothly following the book.

I then installed iptables, and there come the troubles : the installation
went OK, and I used the "Masquerading Router" conf file (the very one I
use on my LFS 6.0). But it is of no use : iptables doesn't seem to work.
I keep getting messages like :
"ip_tables module not present", or "can't write to filter table".

Problem is I configured iptables in the kernel, not in modules. It works
perfectly on my present 6.0 LFS, but not in the new one.

Where did I erred ?

Thanks for any help.

\bye
