This is correct since libGL is not created with libtool. So, no .la
(libtool archive) file is created. And you probably don't want to go
about trying to generate it unless you have an intimate knowledge of
libtool and libGL.
By any chance, did you install the NVIDIA libGL? Because they do ship
libGL.la with their OpenGL implementation.
