This is weird. When I reboot, the initrd is not recognizing the /dev filesystem in its root filesystem . It keeps on saying "no such device or address" or "has wrong device number" even though I performed the correct mknod in the directory.

Can anyone point out some of the possibilities I can try to see what's up? Note, I am using the 2.6 kernel and I did NOT load the /dev/ pseudo-filesystem under the instructions of my howto. I am not sure if that has anything to do with it.
