Sorry it's been a while, I've been compiling a lot of other software (Xorg & kde), but I was trying to fix the sound stuff last night, and I got it to load the modules but now it says it can't open /dev/dsp permission denied, what do I need to do to fix the permissions? Thanks
Most likely, your /dev/dsp has permissions 664 for group audio. Which means, that to write to this device (play music) you have to belong to group audio, or to change permissions to allow writing for anyone (somewhere in udev configuration) -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
