How do you set up kdm? With my setup below I don't get the userlist on the left hand side, just an empty list. It works OK for logging in but I would like to be able to see the nice icons I chose for myself & the kids :-)
There's no bootscript in the blfs-bootscripts tarball, huh? Well, it's simple enough. I'd just copy the gdm script and change the paths, etc.

This approach doesn't do anything with dbus either, I suppose the dbus kdm hint on the lfs website is the way to go here?
I don't use kdm, but we should probably have info on this in the book. The hint seems more complicated than necessary (no offense, Stef). I'm not familiar with kdm, but it's pretty simple to wrap the session with dbus-launch with gdm. I'd like to get both issues addressed in the book. Any kdm users care to enlighten me on how the basic kde session is initialized? -- Dan -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
