-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello, I'm cross posting this because I'm hoping to reach someone who will have the answer. I just posted a message to BLFS which tells of trying to compile gaim-1.5.0 on a pure 64 CLFS build running on AMD64. When I try running a build of gaim-1.5.0 which I compiled without perl support I get a segfault. The message tells me it is trying to write a core file and I should get a stack trace and send it to them. Well for some reason I don't have a core file. Thinking that for some reason it was trying to write one in a directory I didn't have write permissions in I tried running it as root. Still no core file. Then I decided to use ?trace to find out what is going on and I can't find any command line trace tool. I thought that was a default tool that came with any *NIX but I guess I was wrong.
First, is there something I don't have in my kernel configuration or something like that which may be causing the core file not being created? Or is it possible that this is a gaim bug? Second, I looked through the BLFS book and didn't see any trace utility except traceroute. Is there a *LFS that has the trace utility included or am I on my own with that one? -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.3 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFE50KtI9lqJPlLBqQRAim/AJ9jh/NXPeeEHcIJje+Dq1jNKESu6QCgh0JT zgqP5jN/ix6qX2N4TNJW7gQ= =bUu1 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
